Oriental Energy S2015 is a polypropylene homopolymer pellet designated for fibre and spinning conversion. The material is supplied with a nominal melt flow rate of 15 g/10 min when tested according to ISO 1133-1:2022 at 230 °C under 2.16 kg load, a density of 0.90 g/cm³ to 0.91 g/cm³, and a crystalline melting range of 160 °C to 165 °C by ISO 11357-3. The downstream scope below is restricted to established polypropylene homopolymer fibre sectors: staple fibre for needle-punched nonwovens, continuous multifilament yarn for woven geotextiles and cordage, bulked continuous filament carpet yarn, and short-cut concrete reinforcement fibre. Processes outside the fibre/spinning envelope, such as biaxially oriented film, extrusion coating, injection moulding, and sheet thermoforming, are not evaluated because the rheology and additive packages differ from fibre-grade requirements.
Where a processing condition is given as a single value, the value is a starting point for line qualification and must be adjusted against the converter’s extruder geometry, residence time distribution, and downstream winding or cutting speed. Where a range is stated, the lower bound typically corresponds to lower throughput or higher melt-viscosity lot characteristics and the upper bound to higher throughput or lower melt-viscosity lot characteristics. The converter is responsible for verifying lot-level COA values against the supplier’s certificate of analysis before setting recipe and process parameters.

Staple fibre for needle-punched nonwoven geotextiles and automotive textile support layers is processed on a single-screw extruder with an L/D ratio of 30:1 to 36:1. The barrel temperature profile is set from 190 °C in the feed zone to 245 °C in the metering section, and the melt temperature at the die is held between 235 °C and 255 °C. The formulation is composed of 96.0 wt% to 98.5 wt% S2015 pellet and 1.5 wt% to 4.0 wt% additive masterbatch; the UV-stabilized outdoor geotextile grade typically contains 1.0 wt% to 3.0 wt% hindered amine light stabilizer masterbatch, 0.5 wt% to 2.0 wt% pigment masterbatch, and 0.5 wt% to 1.0 wt% processing aid. Spinneret hole diameter is maintained between 0.30 mm and 0.60 mm. When hole diameter exceeds 0.45 mm, quench air velocity at the cabinet inlet must be increased to 0.4 m/s to 0.8 m/s and the quench air temperature lowered toward 15 °C to prevent filament coalescence, especially on 120 mm screw-diameter lines running above 500 kg/h. The filaments are then drawn at 1.5:1 to 4.0:1 across heated godets, crimped at 8 to 14 crimps per 25 mm, cut to staple lengths of 38 mm to 110 mm, carded, cross-lapped, needle-punched, and optionally calendered. Terminal product types include needle-punched geotextiles tested under EN 13249 and ISO 10318, automotive carpet backing, mattress felt, filtration support media, and geosynthetic clay liner cover layers. The compliance envelope is ISO 9073-1 for mass per unit area, ISO 9073-3 for tensile strength and elongation, REACH 1907/2006 Annex XVII for restricted substances, and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 for olefin polymers when the fibre is supplied into indirect food-contact support. Storage above 70% relative humidity requires pre-drying at 80 °C for 2 h in a desiccant or hot-air hopper dryer; the practical upper melt temperature is 260 °C, above which chain scission reduces fibre tenacity and increases spinneret drool.
In continuous multifilament yarn conversion into woven geotextiles, industrial ropes, and load-restraint webbing, the process window is constrained by spinline stress from the spinneret face to the first godet stand. Melt fracture and filament fusion are the dominant failure modes observed on 90 mm single-screw extruders with melt pumps operating above 120 bar; the failure signature is a periodic variation in filament diameter that propagates into yarn tenacity variation and is detected by EN ISO 2062 tensile testing as elevated elongation variability. The polymer formulation uses 95.0 wt% to 98.0 wt% S2015 homopolymer, 2.0 wt% to 5.0 wt% UV stabilization masterbatch where the yarn is specified for outdoor exposure under ISO 4892-2:2013 cycle 1, 0.5 wt% to 1.5 wt% acid scavenger masterbatch, and 1.0 wt% to 2.5 wt% colour masterbatch where fibre identification codes are required. Spinning is performed through spinneret plates with hole diameters of 0.25 mm to 0.40 mm, at melt temperature 235 °C to 250 °C, quench air temperature 15 °C to 22 °C, dew point not above 10 °C, and draw ratio 4.0:1 to 6.0:1, followed by 8% to 12% relaxation on the final godet set. Spin finish is applied at 0.3% to 0.8% oil pickup; winding speeds above 2,800 m/min require closed-loop spin finish control to prevent yarn-to-yarn abrasion and tension spikes. Terminal products include high-tenacity multifilament yarn for woven geotextile fabrics tested under ISO 10319, polypropylene fibre rope tested under ISO 1346 and ISO 2307, twine, braided cordage, industrial webbing, and warp-knitted geogrid reinforcement. The compliance set includes ISO 2076 for generic names, ISO 1833-1 for fibre identification, and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 where skin-contact claims are contractually required. Lot-level MFR variation within the supplier COA tolerance of ±1.0 g/10 min shifts back pressure and spinline tension; therefore the melt pump set-point must be trimmed after each lot change. No data are presented here for spin-draw ratios above 6.0:1 on this specific grade; published data for this configuration is limited, and pilot-line validation is required before production release.

| Outdoor woven geotextile | 2.0 wt% to 4.0 wt% | 0.5 wt% to 1.5 wt% | 94.5 wt% to 97.0 wt% |
| Automotive carpet and textile | 1.0 wt% to 3.0 wt% | 0.5 wt% to 1.5 wt% | 95.0 wt% to 98.0 wt% |

In bulked continuous filament carpet yarn production, S2015 homopolymer is processed through a spin-draw-texturing line in which the melt is delivered by a 120 mm single-screw extruder with L/D 36:1 to a spinning beam, drawn over heated godets at 2.5:1 to 4.5:1, and textured with hot-air jets at 8 bar to 12 bar compressed-air pressure. The draw-ratio limit is not determined solely by melt strength; the usable upper draw ratio is set by the interaction of spinline resonance and inter-filament sticking in the texturing chamber. Draw ratios above 4.5:1 are associated with an increase in yarn break frequency on production-scale lines, but published data for this specific configuration is limited, and the operating window should be confirmed by on-line break-rate monitoring. The formulation consists of 94.0 wt% to 97.5 wt% S2015 pellet, 2.0 wt% to 4.0 wt% pigment masterbatch for solution-dyed carpet pile, 1.0 wt% to 3.0 wt% UV stabilizer masterbatch for automotive interior and outdoor carpet applications, 0.5 wt% to 1.5 wt% acid scavenger masterbatch, and 0.5 wt% to 1.0 wt% fluoropolymer processing aid where extruder back pressure exceeds 150 bar. Melt pump suction pressure is controlled between 20 bar and 50 bar; below 20 bar, pellet slippage and melt-cushion instability are possible, and above 50 bar the spinline tension tends to become unstable. Terminal products include tufted carpet pile, automotive floor covering and trunk liners, carpet tiles, and outdoor entrance mat fibre. The governing standards are EN 1307 for carpet classification, ISO 8543 for pile mass measurement, ISO 9239-1:2010 for radiant-panel flammability, ISO 11357-6 for oxidative induction time, and UN Regulation 118 Annex 6 for automotive interior material burning behaviour where the fibre is supplied into vehicle platforms. Processing should be stopped and purged if the melt temperature exceeds 260 °C for more than 15 min, because the homopolymer undergoes oxidative chain scission and the resulting lower melt viscosity produces uneven texturing and higher lint shedding in finished carpet.
At the concrete reinforcement end-use, S2015 homopolymer is converted into short-cut fibres with lengths of 6 mm, 12 mm, or 19 mm by melt spinning, hot drawing, annealing, and precision cutting; the monofilament route is selected where controlled tensile strength and monofilament geometry are required for plastic shrinkage crack control in cementitious matrices. The polymer formulation comprises 95.0 wt% to 98.0 wt% S2015 homopolymer, 1.0 wt% to 3.0 wt% antioxidant and acid scavenger masterbatch, 0.5 wt% to 1.5 wt% dispersion and spin finish package, and 0.5 wt% to 2.0 wt% hydrophobic surface modifier masterbatch where the fibre must resist alkaline hydrolysis in moist concrete. At the terminal batching stage, the fibre is dosed at 0.6 kg/m³ to 1.8 kg/m³ of concrete, corresponding to about 0.07% to 0.20% by volume, and is added after the coarse aggregate is charged but before final water addition to prevent fibre balling. The fibre production line uses a 90 mm single-screw extruder with L/D 30:1, melt temperature 235 °C to 250 °C, spinneret hole diameter 0.20 mm to 0.35 mm, draw ratio 3.0:1 to 5.0:1, and cutting speed synchronized to the drawn tow speed to maintain length tolerance of ±1.0 mm. Terminal products include fibre-reinforced concrete slabs, shotcrete, precast elements, screeds, and repair mortars. The applicable standard envelope is EN 14889-2 for polymer fibres for concrete, ASTM C1116/C1116M for fibre-reinforced concrete, and EN 934-2 where the fibre is combined with admixtures; CE marking under EN 14889-2 is only possible after the manufacturer completes the full initial type testing and factory production control audit specified in that standard. This grade is not formulated as a high-modulus structural macro-fibre and should not be substituted for steel fibre or macro-synthetic fibre in applications requiring post-crack structural load capacity.
